A trainer hired by a China bank spanked eight employees in front of an audience for "not exceeding themselves,” according to a Facebook post by People’s Daily, China.
The incident, which was recorded by what appears to be a viewer’s smartphone, shows the trainer hired by the Changzhi Rural Commercial Bank asking the employees "Why you ranked the lowest today?" Then, going down the line, spanking each one. He spanked each a second, third and fourth time in the video.
One employee is seen in pain, jumping forward and trying to cover herself.
The trainer, Jiang Yang, later cut and shaved their hair, according to reports obtained by the BBC.
Two bank executives were suspended for the incident, which happened at a training session for more than 200 employees in northern China on June 18.
Yang said the spanking was "a training model I have tried for years,” according to theBBC.
